Name that sound....

I have a 2005 Cobalt 2.2L, w ith about 47k miles on it. I have a problem with a random squeak I hear. It only happens after I have been driving for a bit in city traffic. I drive 15 miles to work, mostly highway and never hear it. The noise sounds like a quick squeak from what sounds like the front of the car, not 100%. I have replaced the front break pads and rotors. The squeak seems to to be when shifting 2-3 gear, but not sure if it happens other gears, don't get to go up higher in the city. It doesn't happen all the time, but seems like it's always during gear shifts. Thinking it might be serpentine belt, but not sure. Any other ideas? Don't want to take it to some place to have them start replacing parts when I doubt they will know what is wrong. Tried checking out the belt, but doesn't look like I can get a good look without taking the wheel and wheel well off.

Help?

I've got the same thing going on. Just a quick chirp almost. usually when shifting, never just cruising. I'm thinking its bearings in a pulley going bad. The extra torque from shifting is making it squeak. Not 100% but thats what I think is going on (for me at least)
Haven't taken the belt off to check the pulleys, was going to wait until I wanted to change the belt.
