need help for adjusting a bolt on actuator

Someone told me this is my boost actuator. There is a little hex key bolt underneath as you can see in the picture. Someone told me I can adjust this to gain or lower my boost..or something like this. My car stutters sometimes and only runs around 10 psi. The garage played around with this adjustment before telling me he didn't know what it did. Would I tighten it or loosen it for better performance
Hmmm... Well what you have pictured is the boost bypass valve...
It corresponds to a butterfly valve (like a throttlebody) that is between the blower and intake manifold. The valve is usually open during part throttle driving soo that the engine is not always running constant boost. This valve then closes when necessary allowing the car to build boost.
To the best of my knowledge the boost bypass is not adjustable per say... It is just used to bleed off boost, not increase or decrease that (pulley's determine boost as it spins blower slower or faster). There is however a "boost bypass mod" (search it) that is NOT recommended as it would allow the car to always make boost even under light throttle. This mod entails plugging certain vacuum lines and whatnot, and has nothing to do with a bolt or screw adjustment....
Anyways, I'm at work and not near my car, but judging from your pictures, that bolt is on the mounting bracket holding the boost bypass to the blower body! Definitely not an adjustment that I see... I have had my blower off several times and have never seen anything of the sort you are describing...
You stuttering however could be caused by a multitude of reason... Also limited boost may or may not be a problem. If your seeing 10psi on a stock SS/SC that isn't bad. It all depends on your mods and location. Search around...

ok. I have a cel light on saying there is something wrong with my MAF sensor. It did get wet so maybe that could be the cause of the stuttering. I may have to replace it...thanks for the advice though.
Just clean it first with some Spray cleaner before buying a new one.
leave it
it only creates problems by adjusting it...trust me, I've been over this many times in the past 4 years between this car and my last car....I've also scanned before and after
