Thumbs down Need help asap!!!!

i took my switches out of my door bezels today to paint the bezels, and i decided while they were out, i would make the bulbs glow red. so i took some tail light tape and taped them up and put them back together. when i put my drivers side pw switch in, my window instantly rolled down, and would not go back up. i took apart the switch about 20 times and it still wouldn't go up. i had to leave so i left it as it was. i came back about 2 hours later and pulled it apart once more, put it back together and the window went up! what went wrong? i didnt **** anything up when i removed or installed them. well i now have a new problem.................... the dash wont light up at night. the switches aren't lit up, cluster, radio, and hvac. anything that is supposed to light up isn't. my headlights wont even switch from auto, to off or anything. my electrical is fucked! did i blow a fuse or something? i have no idea what to do other than leave it for now.

You may have had shorted some wires by accident if you removed the switches without the battery disconnected. There still might be a problem with the wires going to the window switch. Check for spots where bare metal is showing and wires might be close to touching. It definitely sounds as if you may have blew the fuse for the interior lights. I have an 07 SS and in my manual it only shows having 1 fuse for all the interior lights. Good luck. It's more than likely an easy fix.

checked your fuses in the BCM panel as it does sound like something shorted out while you were working on it. in regards to the switch, chances are you didn't put the switch back together properly as they are just a rocker switch for the windows.

but check all your fuses in the kickpanel and get back to me.

you still would have had to pull them apart to put the tape in, which means logically when you put it back together it was putting pressure on the down side of the switch.

On that one I put the tape on the bulb itself. The bulb is on the circuit board. There was no tape to make the switch go down

I called soundjunky and he said to check the fuses and if they are fine then it could be the bcm. I hope it's not the bcm and just a fuse

did you test them with a test light, just because they don't look broken doesn't mean they aren't

ya test with a test light and confirm, if one is blown it will not light up with the switch turned on.
