need help getting stock radio bezel off

i found a tutorial that is removing the dash in order to get to the radio bezel. The first part says remove the panel underneath the steering column but im pulling on mine hard in the 07 and its not even moving really. The tutorial i found doesnt match exactly to what its in my car. Do they have out yet Haynes manual for the cobalt. I got my gmos-lan-03 adapter in so as soon as i can figure out this dash i will be installing it today.

Please help me with this.

Josh

Does the radio bezel just pop off?

i figured it out everyone.

you have to pull the part below and to the right of the steering wheel off... then you can access the panel that's to the left of the radio bezel... once you pop that off you can get underneath it with a screwdriver... there's 6 clips holding it in, it may be hard to pop off... the first part under the wheel you have to pull... first time i did it i was scared it was going ot break, but it's not going to... give a good pull... after you have the part off that's to the left of the radio, you have to pull off the dash piece to the right... this is easiest if you open the passenger side door, you can get in from the right side... just be careful with that piece

this is the part coming off, pull from the BOTTOM even though i'm holding it at the top

here's the next step, take this piece off... my finger is pointing at one clip, one is more to the left... be careful if you have your DIC controlls there, the wire is not that long.

this picture shows 2 steps... it shows the RIGHT panel off, and you can see the 2 lips on either side that you can get the screwdriver under... don't bend too hard, just slowly pry it off... you can see 2 of the clips holding in the right panel, there's 4 of them and they're evenly spaced

make sure you put them back on in the order you took them off, otherwise they won't fit.. so,:

1) Put back on radio bezel
2) put back left pannel, and right pannel
3) put back trim under/right of the steering wheel

also, when you're pulling off that first panel under the steering wheel, make sure you're ONLY pulling the panel, not the part that the panel is clipped too.. i did that the first time.. that may be why it's not coming off

well plugging in aftermarket now. I got all the wires wired up. Lets see if everything works now plus my door chime.

man this cd player is awesome. I also got the ipod hookup so all the songs show up on the screen. My door chimes still work and also my radio stays on when the car is shut off until i open the door. I will have pics tommorow.
