Hey guys,

So, for a little while now, my car has been out of whack. About a month ago, the exhaust smacked off of a curb, and seemed to have knocked something out of whack. S

It seems like a smooshed gasket in the header/dp flange, or something along that line. Definitely in that area. It's caused a small air leak out of the one side of the gasket/flange and there's a weird airy exhaust noise at throttle. Didn't really seem to "affect" anything, however it just made it sound dumb. The hole isn't big enough to change the exhaust sound it's self, but it sounds silly inside the car.

Then yesterday I started getting random t/c lights under certain periods of constant throttle (highway, etc). This t/c light causes the traction to disengage, but the tranny also shifts harder. But lately, it at least goes off after letting off the throttle. But last night it threw a full CEL code. Which I was happy about so I could diagnose it right. It's P0171, bank 1 too lean.

The car, overall, is running fine, but it's been a little sluggish for awhile now. Even before the exhaust smack. I ran some Seafoam (full run) and it seemed to gunk up my plugs, so I was thinking it may have gunked the 02's a little too. So I plan on cleaning them when I get my exhaust fixed. But the idle is normal, gas mileage is normal, power is normal, etc.

So would you say the code is very likely just from the exhaust air leak? And possibly the alleged gunked-up 02's aren't helping either, right? I'm gonna pull my MAF out and clean it as well, eventhough it was cleaned less than a month ago.. My gaskets were also never replaced in my exhaust, so I'd assume I have may have more leaks than I even know of..

Oh, and my set-up is 2.4 auto with the only effecting mods an Injen CAI with an AEM filter, and a hybrid catback of GMPP tubing, stock SS resonator, and a Dynomax muffler..

Yeah, I cleared it, however my car seems to get random ****, so we'll see. I'd assume it's mostly from the exhaust situation and possibly the 02's..

 

did u bend a flange or something when u said it smacked off the curb?

 

No, all of that seems fine. But again, I have an air leak at the section joining the header to dp one, so the gasket there is obviously destroyed..

 

ya man i would change that if its not too much of a hassle and do something with the 02 sensors...btw how can u clean an 02 sensor?

 

Remove it, spray with a throttle-body type spray cleaner, and scrub wit ha toothbrush. Did that to my plugs. Worked great.
