Hey guys. I'm just wondering if I should be changin my battery soon. I have an 07 bought it new and 70k miles on it and haven't replaced the battery yet (never had a problem with it) ... Should I be doing this as part of maintenance?

 

8 years typically is the life span of a standard lead acid battery

 

No. Replace it when it dies.

 

With the battery being in the trunk, it's not exposed to the elements as much.
I just replaced my original battery from my 06 a few months ago as preventative maintenance. Didn't want the heat possibly leaving me stranded.

 

What battery are you guys going to ?? Any battery in particular (upgraded) or just a standard replacement ??

 

mine has some weird clamp on it ive never seen and I cant get the damn thing off lol

 

Got an 06 with just under 110k no signs of any issues with the battery. Just wait till it starts going.

 

just replaced mine this afternoon. started producing a weird smell. like burning electrics mixed with charred hair. i got mine from Oreilleys for $130.

If its not going bad why replace it? If you are worried its going bad get it checked.

 

My battery light was coming on after I had the key stuck in ignition and my battery completely drained. I just replaced mine early July on an 09.

I had the CEL turned off in a tune though so I haven't seen it come on regardless.

 

also just realized someone had speakers hooked up in the car and left the power cords connected to the battery.

 

sir why is there no bolt holding down that negative cable?

 

because there was an unneeded wire that I unattached for picture reasons. I put the nut back on It I promise lol.

 

but in any case that negative terminal wouldnt come off anyhow. I tried pulling it off lol
