What they told you sounds like it could be true. When you turn the Hot/Cold ***, your selecting to bring air accross the Heater Core (Hot) or the AC Condensor (Cold) If your AC is off, then it will be like vent air. TUrn your Hot/Cold knob to full hot, then turn on your ac max ac but leave the temp in full hot. See if it blows normal temp air, or COLD Air. if it blows cold air, then its a valve/door issue or could be the knob itself as it would still be blowing the air over the condensor instead of the heater core. If it blows regular temp air, or vent, then your problem could be a clogged heater core.

Just looked in the service manual: It has you troubleshoot a slightly diffrent way, and yes it could be the "Air Tempature Door" It lists some tests to do on useing jumper wires and checking for voltages and doing a visual inspection on it checking for binding and obstructions. When turning the temp knob your Air Temp door should move also.

Well lol I fixed it. See I dropped my iPod back by the motor that opens for the heat the other day. And it seems when I was foraging around to find it, I unplugged to motor. Plugged it back in and got my heat back. Face palm on me

i put my stealable electronics behind there when i leave my car, where the wires feed to the fuse box, from the very front of the center console, good hiding spot, and my ipod fell under the carpet where my gas pedal is and when i rumaged threw back there looking for it i guess the wire got pulled out. lol
