No speaker sound

Ok, so I understand that i probably screwed them up, but anyway. I bought a Pioneer amp, and a bazooka subwoofer to put in the car. I hooked everthing up ( the right way, a buddy of mine helped ). I spliced the woofewr into the rear speakers, so i turn on the car and hear a loud crackle and my speakers die. Fine...I went out a bought an aftermarket headunit, thinking that it was a blown headunit ( ill deal with the loss of money ) I set up the new headunit and same thing, no sound. I checked every fuse and they're all fine. So....what did i mess up? And should i take it in or...?

Fair enough, but my front speakers dont work either. I may be a bit retarded here, but i did have a best buy installer helping me with the whole thing, and by splicing in the rear speaker i meant with the line in converter that gives me rca hookups.

Its possible, but not likely because there would be other problems. I had a open wire on my Z24 that did the same thing, it would work until i it a bump then it would ground out

Ive taken everything apart, and put it back to stock, but still no sound, im getting a bit worried. Oh and stupid me forgot to mention that the entire row of dashboard ligths ( traction control etc) came on when i had the aftermarket pioneer in.
