if your slipping in 5th its gotta be the clutch

unless theres ice, your car still isnt making the power to spin in 5th at 60. its the clutch. id bet my left nut on it.

ok how hard is it to change the clutch? my dash tells me ICE POSSIBLE and i can get the tires to spin in first and second no problem it jsut seems if i am in a gear for a little bit it will rev up quick for a second then it starts to grab

Quick Rev then grap sounds like spinning 1 wheel, then the difrential locks up.

thats a slipping clutch then. and the clutch change itself, probably around 10hours or so at average working pace for the regular joe.

You don't need a new clutch just because it slips at 60 under WOT. High torque / low rpm creates a huge amount of stress on the clutch and shouldn't be done. There is no situation that calls for it. If you're in 5th at 60 and you need to accelerate quickly, then downshift. If you don't need to accelerate quickly, then don't give it full throttle.

Edit: This is of course assuming you have the SS turbo. If you have a 2.2 / 2.4 and you're slipping the clutch then it could be a sign that it's wearing out. Those engines don't make enough low-end torque to slip it.

Interesting...your clutch shouldn't be slipping at that point. A 3.0-pullied car makes maybe half the torque that a tuned turbo balt does at that rpm. Still, maybe start using 4th gear pass on the highway.
