Its soo annoying and loud. Its like a grinding noise(metal-metal) Noise comes from the rear of the car every morning when reversing. During the day/evening, theres no noise when i reverse. Turning the steering wheel either way doesn't make a difference. Tried shifting into 1st gear before reversing n that sometimes helps. Anybody got other tips or knows whats causing it?

 

Rust on the rear rotors, very common and there are dozens of threads on this. If you listen close you get some noise if you start out forward in the morning but it's 100x worse backing up.

Nothing you can do about it and it doesn't do any real harm - except to your ego when your car makes that "howling groaning something is gonna fall off" noise. One good solid stop cleans them right up

 

But it only happens in the morning... If it was the rotors, wouldn't it happen everytime i reverse?

 

Nope. Overnight moisture settles on the rotors and causes a small amount of surface rust on the rotor face. That noise is the pads rubbing the surface rust off.

Cheap imported steel for the rotors maybe? Wonder if some aftermarket rotors would resist the rusting better......
