Oil cap blowing off
Oil cap blowing off
OK so I just recently took my 06 LSJ Cobalt to the local dealership to get an oil change and tire rotation. Should have known things where fishy w u en I saw the price of 39.99 which is less than the oil alone for this car as most of you know that **** ain't cheap. First off I noticed after I left the dealership the tires where just swapped rim and all front to back not a normal rotation...then on top of that last night about a week after I made a couple back to back pulls in 1st and 2nd gear not letting it hit the 6500 Rev limit mark in first...I pulled into where I was going and noticed the smell of slightly crispy oil...uh oh synthetic shouldn't burn I thought so I popped open the hood and my oil cap was now missing. I check under there regularly cause well its a beautiful sight seeing that corn fed supercharged American made rice incinerator under the hood. With that being said I know for sure it's been on there up until last night. There is no knock and the engine seems to be running alright minus the heat during the Texas summer day when the supercharger doesn't like to do work anyways...any thoughts on this issue and what could have caused it or is this something that has happened. Also any thoughts on the tire rotation because I don't like my rims switching positions personally.
yes, I understand. but since he didn't say directional, I would assume they aren't directional tires...so that is normal what they did
I've always done it front to back side to side I mean that's not the real issue considering it has the same size tire all the way around but as far as far as the oil cap goes this new one fits loosely and doesn't lock into place and I'm pretty sure the one I lost was the same one
So not sure if they broke the lock mechanism or not screwed in all the way...gonna wait for the sun to go down and Temps drop below 100 before I try to make some pulls to see if it happens again

Considering the amount of oil + filter and rotation not to mention labor...at a dealership should have been closer to 60 just saying...I know it's 23 for the oil at Walmart if you buy it yourself
