e/ its a LSJ. little more work involved. but they are pretty straight forward motors to take apart

oh yes, at first i was like dexcool does wierd things.

but that is a headgasket tho. dam

can you wrench? also what car do you have specifically ?

it took me a weekend, and $500 to do mine myself. with coolant flush/oil flush & change. Im not a mechanic by any means, just a guy with tools. it really wasnt NEARLY as hard as i thought it would be. hardest most PITA part of the job was removing the exhaust manifold. lol. otherwise it will probably be north of $1500 . safe measures, get the head checked, shaved, cleaned etc. thats $200

i never did a headgasket before either till my ecotec.
took me 2 hours to get it off.
down the machine shop with the head - $200
Down to gm dealership, got the headgasket kit with all other gaskets and bolts - $200
3-4 hours to put it back together. you will need a torque wrench.
add random oil, add water. drive to oil change shop. get them to flush and fill. another $100-150
done

your dealer MAY have to order the kit, can take 2-3 buisness days typically, and the machine shop a day or two to get that done. or skip the machine shop and hope for the best.
Has your car been overheating?? watch that temp 100% of the time when driving.

thats if you didnt mash a sleeve. these cars dont TYPICALLY pop headgaskets. pretty uncommon withot mashing a cylinder sleeve.

anyways dude, you have an issue that needs fixing. That cylinder head needs to come off and you need to find where the issue is.
do it your self, or take it to a grage and dish out close to 2 grand.

or come bring your car up here to canada and ill buy it.

Alright

first thing you gunna have to realize. is the car will probably be down for a week. given parts will have to be ordered, etc.

and as another caring balt owner i would recomend you take the head off FIRST. and determine if that is infact your problem and not the block ( i think we all agree on h/g, but never know ). it would suck to book an appt, order & pay the h/g kit, take it all apart and your motors cooked.. JUST in case right?

Dont drive it much/hard till this is fixed. good luck !

p.s i wanted you to bring your car up here to canada so i can buy it off you cheap

So I was doing some research and I found that it might be the oil cooler. Honestly I didnt even know we had one and after reading I think it can most likely be this as there is oil in coolant bt no coolant in the oil. Heres some pics I took the valve cover off and inspected it for any signs of coolant everything looks good though.
