Oil light staying on, upset with the dealer
Hi people, I have a 08 Cibalt SS. I was driving to work Monday morning and about 1/2 mile from home the oil light blinked a couple times and then stayed on. I pulled over and checked the oil thinking maybe I had a leak or something. Oil on the dipstick so I drove it home and took the truck to work.
I called the dealer and asked if they could tow it there. They told me they didn't have a tow service and I would have to have it towed in myself. The car is still under warranty so I asked about GM Roadside Assurance. I called them and they would only tow to the nearest dealership which was one that I don't know anything about. Well I used my AAA and had it towed, only 3 more for the year that just started 4-1.
Well, Wednesday I called and they said that it was a sensor problem, not a pump problem. Said they had to order it and it shoule be in Thursday. Felt better about the car but driving my truck that only gets 14 mpg. 75 miles a day. Called today and got a different service advisor. She said that she wasn't familiar with my car but checked while I was on the phone. Told me that the sensor just came in, asked if it was ok to work on it Monday. I told her that I was kind of wantig the car and if they could work on it tomorow. She said that she would check with a tech and let me know. I never received a call back.
Am I being unreasonable to be upset? I took the car in last year for a brake problem, rear pads into the rotors at 20,000 miles. Theu didn't want me driving it and put me in a rental while they fixed it. I thought it would be like that all the time.
