oil pan help
oil pan help
ok so i'm taking off my oil pan to tap it and it wont come off i took all the bolts out but it still wont drop i even tapped around the edges ..................anyone
Okay, youre sure you removed all the bolts? There should be 15 bolts that hold the pan to the engine and you need to remove the lower a/c compressor bolts too.
Then its just a matter of prying. The sealant that is used is good stuff. Its strong.(make sure you use the same stuff when you go back on, Permatex offers it now, Ultra Grey, i think its #82194

There is no trick, just pry it off. There should locations on the corners near the transmission where you can get a good bite with a pry bar. You can try heating it up along the rail to make the sealant a little more plyable, but honestly Ive never had to resort to that, a deadblow/soft faced hammer and some prying implements is all you need.
