For mine the passenger side door rattles, but not the driver's side. Odd.

Passenger side door rattles like crazy we should invent something to get rid of it maybe the fact that the handles are hollow inside. What if we drilled a hole and filled with with a glue or silicone?

ya i think the rattles are part of the GM design. im thinking that if you plaster the doors with dynamat or some other type of sound deadner that the rattles will be reduced if not stopped all together

I've got this ridiculous rattle in my steering column... Christ it drives me crazy just thinking about it.

Moral of the story: Welcome to your new Cobalt!

I only got one rattle in the trunk that I can't get at yet. Solution for all others- these little foam squares that are sticky on both sides. Just left the backing on one side and stuck it behind the door handles, no more rattle.

Lightbulb Rattle Fix!!!!

There are rubber seals you can get and put on the door were the rod comes through the door
that will stop that or glue some foam around it were it comes back through the frame of the door

they will also rattle if you have broke the door with a slim jim there a anti-theft crap in there that wont let you open the door from the outside after breaking it.

I installed the soft half of 3M adhesive backed velcro on the door under the handle. Worked like a charm, did the same thing to my dome light.

^^^^^^THIS^^^^^^ works really well for lots of stuff. I use it all the time at work.
You can also get a proper sized spring and wind it onto the cable between the bracket and the handle, that will take the play out the handle/cable connection.
