Oil problem

Ok so i have had a code that says camshaft sensor A is bad so i replace it and it pops up again. so i switched the 2 cam sensors to see if it was actually the sensor that was bad. To my surprise when i pulled sensor A off there is an almost black sludge with gritty pieces in at and it has white stuff in it too. I really dont think that is good so i dont think it is the sensors anymore but something else. please help asap.

Put up a pic so that we can see what it looked like.
Sounds like to me your looking at the sensor guts, was it worn off on the end.
If it did get worn then it was either to close to the reluctor wheel or there could be something wrong with the cam as well.
If it wasnt worn then it might have something to do with a tsb or pip on that, that said the white gritty stuff is chips or flashings from when the block is made
and I dont think it is anything to worry about ,but I would like to see a good pic of it .

I will see if I can find where I read it.
