NO the supercharger doesn't need to be serviced. It is a SEALED and self contained oil system for the SC. DO NOT try to change the oil. If it breaks, then take it to the dealership.

If it needed to be maintained it would state it in your owners manual, like it does with the other fluids, including the Intercooler coolant. It is a sealed unit not to be tampered with.

VW and Dodge tried to tell me the same thing about the transmission fluid in their cars. It is a GOOD thing of you change it out every so often. Thats why my transmissions last longer than most peoples who have the same car and they still shift like new and are clean inside.
You can ask your dealership to crack open the snout and change the oil for you if you want. It is good to check the rotor coupler after 50000km anyways. You can even check and see what eaton recommends for maintenance intervals on their blowers and get your dealer to follow it. It is your car....if you are like me, dont feel bad for asking them to change out the oil in the SC. I will be doing this evey 45000km or so regardless. Oil does not last forever.

actually i looked it up in the manual twice, bc when i got my oil changed my mechanic told me i should check bc some S/C require a separate oil change. it wasnt mentioned anywhere in the manual, so if something does happen its up to chevy to replace it

The Gen V Eaton on our cars does not require regular service. *Some* superchargers do, like those on the W-body cars, but this one does not. It is made to be sealed for the life of the unit (100,000+ miles), at which point one would be replacing the bearings, coupler, etc. anyway. Everyone has a different say because there are many types of blowers out there with many different maintenance plans.

I had a TRD Supercharger on my Tacoma. It recommend oil changes every 100,000 miles. Although I sold it before then it was similar to changing diff oil in a jeep. You pull the snout off and the oil drains out....clean it out...put it back together and use a filler hole.
Chevy MAY have designed it to last 100k - 200k etc etc without service. But if the owners manual doesnt state anything I wouldnt worry to much about it. Next time you are getting service ask the service writer (not a secretary) to look up how/when you change it...
I know the oil was changed in Gran Prix GTP/GTX's because when I had an S10 I remember seeing supercharger oil in there glass oil case. I have a buddy who is a chevy tech and used to be a pontiac tech. I'll ask him next time I see him on the when/how, I know he'll know about the pontiac but I doubt he'll know about the SS/SC but maybe he'll surprise me...

I was told by a VW mechanic it s the same S/C they used in the older Audi and were good to about 145,000 km and then need to be replaced.
I think if they wanted you to replace the oil in it they would have designed it with a drin and fill hole.

I owned a Grand prix and you have to change it every 50k miles..
it really isnt hard... takes all of 20 minutes...
Here is how you do it.. (i would love to make a write up, but it doesnt need to be done on my car as of yet)
Take off the screw located on teh snout...
Take a windext bottle and use the nozzle/sprayer on top.. unscrew it and keep the empty bottle. Stick the "straw" that is used to suck up the windex and spray it out.. stick that into the snout through that screw you took out...
spray the old SC oil into the empty windex bottle... IT SMELLS BAD.. trust me.
then (for the m90) it takes 1 and 1/2 bottles of the GM supercharger oil.
thats all you do.

Its on page 50 of my maintence manual, its say at 41,500Km to inspect the supercharger oil. I have an 05 by the way so my manuals are probably outdated.
But I went in at 41,000Km and they told my want a few others here have said, that the charger is sealed unit that doean't need servicing untill 100,000Km.
But note to that if you run a smaller pully you are stressing the charger more and therefore burning the oil out faster.
In short your good for a while!
