My 06 SS 2.4 has 44,000 miles and is out of warranty, other than the powertrain.

I had to have my steering column assy replaced last year while i was still under warranty due to a loose thumping sound. It was great after that, but unfortunately now that I'm out of warranty it looks like i have the same problem again. I am wondering if they would potentially cover this under warranty if it is the same problem as before?

Yeah i don't see them doing anything about it either, but it seems to me if its broken again they didn't really do their job in honoring the warranty.

 

its possible, they may count it as a comeback . if it didnt pass the 12month 12k miles then it should be warrantied. but maybe its a seering shaft

 

I would take it back. They should have the new part still under warranty. Like Mark said 12 mon. 12k.

Try and find the recipt that they gave you the first time and it should say how long the part they replaced is warrentied for.

 

I took it to the dealer and found out what you guys said about the 1 year, 12,000 miles, only problem is it was at 19,000 miles and just over a year ago that i had it done according to their computer. He said there is still some hope that they might be able to get some "help" on it, i don't know what he meant by that, but i'll see what ends up happening.
