Is It Overheating?

I have my 2006 SS/SC With 600 miles on it that I got Thursday June 29. I've stayed out of it the best I could. Just for the heck of it I Was watching the temperature readouts earlier today and also the other day and I have seen it go as High as 220 F when sitting idle. When I get on the highway or even just above 40 MPH and get the air flowing the temperature comes right back down around 180 F. Should I take it back to the dealer and have it looked at or do you guys think it's alright?

220 is perfect. If you don't like that temp just turn your A/C on. By doing that it will kick both fans on and cool the motor. But 220 is just fine.

I went in my stealership and received this info. (They look like an up to date modern facility) They accessed their data base on Cobalt temps and told me: Temps in the 220's are not unusual. Should it reach 230 the second fan turns on. With the air on both fans run continuously. My sedan sees 223 occasionally. Seems pretty hot to me.
