Well I need help figuring out whats the deal w/ my car...hopefully someone has a clue as to what it could be!!

for starters, my car as a really rough idle...the engine shakes alot and the car feels like it wants to die

second, when I accelerate it takes a while and when i let go of the gas pedal it sounds as if some fluid is running through a pipe (sorry I dont really know how to explain it)

anyways, the deal is I can totally feel a loss in performance

any ideas??

check ur maf sensor.... its prolly dirty....possibly a air filter... what kinda car u got???

2006 SS/SC?

Do you have mods? How many miles? Have you change sparkplugs? Do you have a CEL? Is your clutch slipping? And like metal said clean your MAF.

 

Yeah its the car in my garage...I did have a problem w/ my stock maf sensor a while back that i had to replace...I replaced it from a junkyard though because I didnt have much cash on me

I've been reading that a faulty MAP sensor can cause those symptoms too...any clues if thats true?

 

I installed a zzp stage 3 kit and a zzp intake...i have about 60k miles on it and no the clutch aint slipping

oh ya, but so can bad tune, tune + bad weather condidtions, spark plugs, bad cat, bad o2 sensors, other sensors etc. So its not like your symptom and just be solved with 1 fix. If there is a check engine light that makes it WAY easier to pin point an issue.

You'll know you have a cel if you see this:


Then you can run to an auto parts store and get the code pulled for free.

When have you had a 3 point fuel system service?
You can have a clogged fuel filter, injectors, crudded up spark plugs, clogged cat, vaccuum hose is off or leaking, dirty air filter, clutch on AC compressor is botched and makes it hard to turn accessory, and so much more.

The TB service they tried to offer me required it being removed for cleaning.
I am not sure it is required though, it sounds like they just want to charge me $160 to spray out my tb.
Anyways, don't get raped on this either, do you have a mechanic friend?

 

no mechanic friend barely moved to austin so im probably gonna get raped and not gonna like it lol...now that i think of it my car began going crazy when i installed the tuned pcm by zzp...could it be that it was a bad tune as well?

i'll go get it check on that 3point fuel see what happens after that...i just don't wanna go spending and changing every thing cuz its gonna be pricey
