Plastic Black Cover on Side Mirrors

anyone's plastic cover on the drivers/passengers side mirrors going from black to white? the paint is fading on it and it's pissing me off, I've already gone over my standard warranty and outside of painting them (which will look like crap), what else can I do? I priced these out... they cost $40 a cover (stupid for a one year old car).

Suggestions?

-Mike

you might be able to have them repainted... are you talking about the color matched cover?

Mr. Clean magic eraser, perfect for cleanning these plastic areas.
it's calcium build up from the water and/or soup ( happened with my cavi all the time)
just be carefull with the painted areas of the car.

Player_1, Thanks for the answer. I might have to try that this weekend when I detail my car. I have some of this stuff on hand.

McPhatty, dude where ya been? sup? no it's the plastic black cover in the middle of the mirror. I will snap a picture of the cover so you get an idea and what it looks like right now.

hold on are you talking about the skull cap ( painted insert ) or the rough black part that holds the mirrir and the insert.

if it's the painted insert use a deoxidizing wax,
if it's the black fram then use the eraser. ( DO NOT USE THE ERASER ON PAINT )
