please help!! Clutch/gear issue!

Hi I'm new to this forum and just bought a 2006*cobalt*ss/sc....I bought it from some guy on craigslist so it was a private sale meaning there's really no lemon law so I coulsnt return it.and he didn't want to give me the money back..long story short the day I bought it I was driving it home and within 20 minutes of driving it the clutch pressure seemed to drop a lot and only hooked up when it was very close to the ground..then it was very hard to get into gears..now when the cars cold it shifts smooth but once I drive for about 20-30 minutes it happens again and it doesn't go into gear please help me resolve this issue thanks!!

Possibly a bad throw out bearing but the first thing to do is check the master cylinder and make sure it is full of fluid. The clutch TOB and the brakes share the same master cylinder. Make sure it is full.

I told my mechanic to check the clutch master cylinder, and if its bad to change it, is the TOB located inside of it cuz if so he can just change it all together or does he have to take out the transmission?

The throw out bearing is in the bell housing. Transmission needs to come out for that. I hope the mechanic will check for line leaks and things like that before swapping parts.

Try this too.....

When the pedal gets low, push it to the floor and slip your foot off it (while not in gear obviously) so the pedal flips back to the up position. My clutch and TOB were replaced at a local shop that specializes in trans and diffs and it did this after.

Not saying it isn't the TOB or a leak but I have the same issue and only after the car is warm.

Once I do this I am OK for most of my trip.

I am reaplcing my clutch and TOB again plus lines.
