Possible damage?

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum here, the cobalt ss, and driving a standard transmission car alltogether.
I was on a local closed road this afternoon and decided that it was a good place to see what my vehicle was capable of. I've been driving stick for about 2 weeks now and definitely still don't have it mastered, but I accelerated in first to redline, and must have done something wrong when shifting into second because as I did, I heard/felt an extremely forceful clunk from something. I'm not sure if I gave it gas/too much gas before letting the clutch out or whatever else may have happened, but I'm sure someone here knows something about what may have been effected by this happening. Should I be worried at all?

Honestly, I've only had the car for a week so I'm not completely familiar with what it sounded like before, but it does seem to be producing a different sound while accelerating now, I can't be sure though by any means. I was just wondering what actually happened so I don't do it again, and if any damage could have been caused by my inexperience.

On another note, the ac fan sounds like it's rubbing on something now which upsets me too, quite loud.

AC is quite loud on our cars.....so is the clutch catching lol. might be normal. Did you let the clutch out really fast ? and what speed were you going on the shift from 1st to 2nd?

You could have been giving it too much throttle and rode the clutch out too long . That could have made a clunk / jarred the tranny and motor in it's mounts.

Could have a front motor mount going out that you heard slam back down when you go off the gas.. even if it's not bad, when you make a hard 1-2 shift it will jolt the car pretty good when it unloads..
