Possible prob?..maybe?

Maybe its in my head. Im reallyy **** with my car if i feel somthings off it bugs me and i feel off. (sounds dumb i know) but its been faily cold here been around 30* lately and the other day i hopped in my car to go out drive around till my car got to its normal tem 178 180* and i started getting on it a bit since its nice and cold.. well my car dont feel right No check engine no weird noises everything seems fine. but my car dont feel as fast it seems like it dont pull as much in first and second dosnt accelerate like it used too. first usualy breaks loose and it dont seem like it has been idk why. Maybe its my clutch?..RPMs are up there im moving but its not going as fast. i have no idea why..maybe my clutch is slipping because its really cold?..it is metal after all or my tires are breaking loose and i dont feel it? or maybe its my tire pressures..cuz its really cold?..not enough air? could my car be sluggish trying to lug itself around with low tire pressure?

If you have the summer tires on they have no adhesive qualitys below 7 degrees C

So in short the tires are spinning really easy and if they are the stock tires wait till you get a little snow.

It's easy enough to watch the speedometer while accelerating hard in 1st or 2nd. If the speedo shoots up when you spike the gas you have a tire problem. Set the parking brake as hard as you can and let the clutch up slowly till the engine quits. That will tell you if there is a problem with the clutch. If you have neither of these it's either in your head or you need to take the car to the dealer for a checkup. Your call. Do you have any aftermarket bolt-ons installed? Possibly some restriction in the exhaust. Or a restriction in the air inlet like a dirty air cleaner. These last two would probably set a code though. If you're really concerned you should have it looked at. High performence is a bad thing to waste.

In this kind of cold, I would avoid accelerating fast. With salt on the roads and the cold temps. You may be spinning and not notice much spin at all. Cold pavement sucks for traction!

I'd say you're breaking loose. Wait till spring and make another assessment. I know I have felt pretty much what you described. I wasn't really stomping it hard but 1/2 throttle is all it takes in 1st or 2nd gear before it starts to skate. My cars seems okay.

Have you tried my suggestion for spiking the throttle in 1st or 2nd and watching the speedo? If the speedo spikes along wiith the throttle your wheels are spinning. If the speedo accelerates at approximately the same speed as the car you better start looking elsewhere for your problem.

First gear it spikes with throttle 2nd gear i go WOT and it spikes with it as well just dont seem ass fast.my SC gets louder with more throttle i give it but the car dosnt seem to accelerate as fast just feels slower then normal

2nd dosnt break loose witch it shouldnt i go WOT and the car just accelerates but too mee it dont feel as fast as it used too right now..dosnt pull as hard.

Just thought of another possible reson..the fuel in my car..its been freezing cold..could it be that theres some water in my fuel that froze up or somthing?..theres been cases of water in the gas. and my car also "coughed" at the gas station the other day i started it up after getting it filled up and it kinda sputterd once and then ran smooth again

So your speedo is spiking while going WOT? If I read this correctly, you're breaking loose.

Haha .... I thought i was the only one this ****. I used to worry when my SS/SC wouldn't spin the tires in the middle of 1st like it normally would....... turns out different roads would provide different results. If you have a spot where you know it always chirps the tires .....try it there. Are you getting used to the car?? how long have you had it ....how long since stage II? The fuel blend is different for winter months so it very well could be the winter blend that is effecting your car.

The Environmental Protection Agency says conventional summer-blend gasoline contains 1.7 percent more energy than winter-blend gas, which contributes to the summer blend’s slightly better gas mileage.

Was your car completely warmed up? If not you are still running in open loop mode, which means you have less performance since the car is not using any sensor feedback. Let the car completely warm up, then do a pull in second and see what it does. You might also try what buellfooll said and put the parking brake on and slowly let off the gas to see if it will kill your engine....if it doesn't you have some clutch slip.

It breaks loose sometimes.. i figured out what it was i talked to a buddy of mine and he asked if i filled up lately..i said yeah he told me this time of year gas stations put an additive in the fuel or somthing like that to make it burn cleaner and cars are losing performance b.c of it..he told me to try seafoam and i did put it in the oil and gas and drove around(car didnt smoke) and after about 20 min my car started pulling alot harder. =] I also tryed the ebrake thing and it just pulls my car along..lol dont kill it just tugs my car moving it..

Make sure to change your oil soon ..... don't want to leave seafoam in the crankcase too long.

On the seafoam bottle it says a maximum of 100 miles if used in the crankcase before changing your oil . Maybe they have changed it recently but I bought the bottle less than a year ago.
