Possible vacuum leak?
Possible vacuum leak?
Whenever I get on the pedal my rpms lag and drop sometimes. It feels like I'm not getting power. Just started happening a month ago. I was thinking it's a vacuum leak, or maybe I need a tune? I just have an intake and full exhaust. Also, when idling my rpms drop and then jack up, as if I'm revving the engine kind of. Any ideas?
Ooooohhhh me me me,
have you ever cleaned the throttle body?
Are you using the A/C?
If you answered no then yes, you sir need to clean the throttle body. Very common on LSJ and the 2.2L.
Hell even the LNF will bounce a little.

I've had the car since November and I've never cleaned the throttle body, but I for sure will. Also, it's stalled in idle. It's done it a few times. This could be due to the throttle body as well?
My suggestion is to disconnect the battery and let it sit for awhile before cleaning to prevent issues when you start it back up. Do not mess with the blades. Also, do not spray cleaner into the throttle body. Just spray it on a towel and wipe clean. This should be done every year or 18 months honestly.
Good luck.
Oh and here is the 6 year thread about it. Idle problem CURE!!!!!!!! Finally!! - Cobalt SS Network
Yes if it has never been done then it would be horrible by 100k.
