Ive herd alot about the sterring racks in our cars going bad.
Wondering what your guys take is on my issue.

1. When on the highway, seems like i get pushed, so to speak. Really easly by the wind, or any movment in the road. Dont think it ever used to be like that... Also, slight shaking, and more steady/heavy shakes when on the breaks.

2. There is 2 different clunks, the first one i suspect it to be the strut ( one was replaced by previous owner, not both. ). If i hit a larger hole, when movin quicky it makes a sound like air is being pushed at the same time i get a clunk.

Also get a clunk when slow rolling over bumps, etc. Its not as loud, just sounds like there is play in something.

Lastly, this pretty much only happens in reverse, or for that split second when i go from reverse to drive. theres a creeking noise when i turn the wheel.

FORGOT TO ADD. The sound of wooden wind chimes when slowing down inside the cab, behind dash.

Sounds bad when i write it all down, but these are just minor ( for now ) ahha
also, any links on a how-to for the steering rack? Never done one before, but ill figure it out. love that game

 

oh yea, in 20k kms. I have no un even tread wear. no shakes or pulls when driving in town. So no front end issues as far as i know / can tell

The steering problem is just the power steering motor not the actual rack.
