power steering, boost gauge stuck

Before I explain my problem, I want to mention that I did use the search function. And I did find multiple threads about the power steering recall, but I just want to be sure.

With that being said, I was driving today, and about 10min after driving, my ''power steering'' warning came on. power steering was lost. Also, my "service airbag" warning came on. Anddd... my boost gauge is stuck at like 2-4 vacuum. 08 tc btw.

Just wanting to see if this is the power steering recall I keep hearing about. And can I call a GM dealer and get them to look up my vin and see if its been done? Or could it be a fuse or something?

also just noticed that when i turn the key the only light to come on is the "Content Theft-Deterrent" Light. I'll go see if my car is spitting any codes.

replaced the fuse... everything is fine now. although i read out the old fuse, and it's getting straight continuity. I did flex some harnesses and check for tightness. hopefully i just re-seated something and don't have an intermittent wire.

so... i thought it fixed it ... but .. I guess not. within about a 10 minute drive, the discrepancy came and went about 5 times. It would work, and then not work. hope my BCM isnt shorting out. Anybody have any inputs? Schematics?

Call a dealer and they will run it to see if it has been done. If not then get that **** done ASAP! If it doesn't fix you're problem then at least you can cross the recall off your list. Other than that, I'm unsure.

at first i thought it was actually a power steering issue.. but now i noticed there were other things. like my windshield wipers not working, boost gauge wont work, airbag service crap, power steering (although the power steering is still actually working now) parts on my instrument panel cluster not working.

yup definitely electrical issue. I know which fuse all this is supplied through, but the fuse isn't blowing. So that leads me to believe that somewhere before that fuse is an intermittent open. or, the BCM is messed up. With the car OFF, there is battery voltage at each of the fuses

Did you ever pull your fuse box? Had similar issues because I did not tighten the fuse blocks back properly.
The underhood fuse box, not the one in the passanger footwell

I looked at the fuse box yesterday. I didnt pull it completely off, but i checked all the blocks for integrity and the wiring. everything looked fine. My fuse box does move around though, I noticed that there is a nut missing on the aft driver side part that holds the fuse box to the car.

I drove the car today to and from work.. about 20min drive both ways. Didn't happen once. I'm going to talk to the dealership today about the recall. Guess now i'm just trying to verify that this recall on the power steering motor would cause these other issues im having, to see if I need to dig deeper.

i called a dealership, and they looked up my vin info. the only recalls they had on file for my car were the upper charge pipe bolt, and the brake rotors. which have already been done anyways.

hopefully my fuse box was just loose or something. it hasnt happened in a couple days. guess we will see.
