A Problem

Well, i changed out my clutch. Everything went well. I put it back together, and everything went back together. The problem is, my car won't turn over. It wants to, but it just won't do it. Since I removed the computer(fuse box under the hood) in order to get to the transmission, would I have to re-flash my computer with an OBD-2 scanner? I tried to disconnect the battery and re-connect it, but still nothing. Anyone have any other suggestions? I really dont want to bring it to the dealership just yet. I'm just confused, and I really need some help. Thanks.

didn't you reconnect absolutely everything? double check. your clutch may not even be disengaging because you didnt connect something after install. YOur car wouldn't turn over at all in that case.

idk how to explain it. like, when i turn the key it makes the sound like its gonna start, but it won't actually run. the engine wants to go, but something is stopping it from actually turning over. fuel pump works, i have fuel pressure, but, idk if i have to reflash my computer or something.

check you starter leads, make sure they aren't grounding out on the block. also check to make sure the clutch actually disengages also.

its hydraulic. i think its non-modular.

Well, we have found the problem. This kid who knows absolutely **** about cars decided to help on my car while i wasn't there and he bolted the starter back together. Little did I know, he used the wrong bolts, and cross threaded the starter. So, we yanked the starter out, and the one copper part is bent and doesn't keep a connection. So I need a new starter. Anyone know where to buy a starter or how much one costs. A buddy of mine said he could get it repaired for about 50-60 bucks. Another buddy of mine has hook-ups at Pep-Boys and Advanced, and he bought a starter for about 80 bucks and he had a cavy. Sooo now, I'm extremely upset, because my car shoulda been done thursday night. Ughhhh. The kid denies that he even touched the car. I'm gonna beat the **** outta him. So thank you for everyone who gave their info. Much appreciated. Anyone who cud help me n gimme a price would get +1 reputation. thanks guys and girls.

step 1:tell him to buy you a new starter. If he doesn't, move to step 2. If he does, proceed to step 3

step 2:beat the **** out of him and take his wallet.

step 3:retrieve starter and bolt it up.

There should be a switch that is engaged when the clutch pedal is pressed to make sure that the car is in neutral. to test this, there should be a pluc in the wiring harness under the dash that will remove this switch for an austmatic application. Just remove this switch connector and plucg the two ends of the wiring harness together.

The other option is that when you removed the electronics, you bent a pin. Most PCMs and ECMs are good for one removal and replacement before the pins start to go.

Good Luck!!
