Problem with car starting

The other day i got in my car to go to work and it wouldn't start and the service airbag came on the dic.My brother said it might be the ignition because he problems with his 01monte and 02 grand am.He told me to leave the key in the run position for 10min and it should start,so i did and it did.It ran good for 2days and now its starting to act up again, has this happened to any of you guys before? Thanks

I doubt the security system is really the issue. These cars actually have transponders in the key, so unless the security light was on or flashing I'd suspect something else. Possibly an ignition switch

There's no way to tell without a scanner hooked up to the car though.

The security light is supposed to flash when you use the key fob to lock the car. It will flash fast if you hit lock and a door is open to signal lock delay mode, or flash slowly when the content theft system is armed. If the security light flashes when you're trying to start the car it could be a problem.

P0315 won't cause a no-crank.
