problem with wife's Cavi, at wits end
I know it's not cobalt related but I'd be afraid this would get lost in the lounge...
the wife has a 1995 Chevy Cavalier with 180K...it has some sort of electrical gremlin. After i turn the car on, some of the dash lights would stay lit after others would turn off as they are suppose to(AIR BAG light, ABS, BRAKE, and the SEAT BELT light). However, they would turn off when they want to. For instance if i where to flash my high-beams they would turn off sometimes or maybe one or two of them would turn off. And of course these same particular light would go on and off when they want to randomly. Also, my radio would seem to shut off for a second or two and then reboot itself, also randomly. When driving with blower motor on, you can hear it randomly bog down, same thing with the light randomly dimming.... Checked battery, alternator and ground, everything checked out... I am at my wits end with it.... anybody have any advice

Sounds like a short or a bad ground, try to get ahold of a wiring diagram and see what they have in common. Your battery terminals or cables corroded? Check that maybe I've seen voltage issues do all kinds of stuff.
both cables are good, just replaced the negative since the ground was literally corroding off.... from my google searching, apparently this is a common electrical gremlin in the cadavaliers
so today as we were ripping the dash apart to check the stereo ground (as recommended by one of the few people still kicking around on the cavalier forums) we accidentally hit the key cylinder and it made the dinging noise like you have the key in there and the door opened, does that sound like a faulty ignition switch?
It could be, but giving the age of the car, very well may have more then one issue. Grounds are a good place to look. Usually a ground point isn't for just one item it's for several things so.... Good luck
