Question for GM Techs
Question for GM Techs
After months of complaining about a bearing grinding noise GM FINALLY found what it was!! Apparently I had a steady bearing and a faulty right front axle shaft. The question I have is how hard should it have been to find the problem right from my initial complaint and what all is involved with changing the parts? Also, since I got my car back today
(after a week) I've noticed that the clutch is quite stiff compared to what it was last week. Why would that be?
Thanks guys!

Generally a faulty or worn wheel hub assembly is pretty easy to diagnose.
With wheel off the ground, grab top and bottom of the wheel and check for movement by pushing and pulling opposite hands. Usually accompanied by some clicking sound etc. If no movement that way, turning the wheel will usually reveal grinding noise or excess friction making the wheel had to turn.
It does sound like something fairly obvious and easy to diagnose BUT I wasn't there and don't know the full symptom as explained etc.
No idea as to the clutch difference, other than that I'd be inclined to think they did something.
Good luck....sounds like your Stealership is like the one I have to deal with.
