Quick question about getting service
Quick question about getting service
I have a 07 ss/sc bought it used from a private dealership I knew the risk of buying a used car
But when I bought the car I had the service airbag light, abs light and a couple of weeks later ago I got a check engine light(evap emission) yeah I know it was dumb to go buy a car with a bunch of problems but I got it for 9gs and everything runs strong and got it with 50k
So my question is if I take it to a Chevy dealership would they charge just to look at my car? I just want to know how everything would cost to fix the airbag light and evap emission I think the code was p0441..

Hello FGss,
Yes, you will have to pay a diagnostic fee if you should visit a dealership for them to look into this. I'd be happy to call your dealer of choice ahead of time to find out what their rate is, and can even get your appointment set up for you if you like.
Please get in touch via private message, and include your name, phone and address, last 8 of your VIN and current mileage, and the name of your preferred dealership.
All the best,
Sarah

Not necessarily. Depends on when it was bought in 07. My car was bought in October of 07 and I have about 86k miles on it. So they are close to being up but not totally. Not like it does me any good now anyways
I think I have voided my warranty in damn near every way possible
Well honestly, lets face it, The actual 07 model was probably sold before 07, they usually put them on sale before the actual model year, it would have to have been bought "new" from a dealership on or after May or late April 2007, what are the odds this guy has the original receipt of the original 1st owner?
Although the dealership should have a record of this, I do not believe they would go through the trouble of finding that information if he does not have it so they can "not" charge for service.
What you said is correct, but these days, its a lost cause...

Better off just forgetting about the dealership and make repairs yourself.
If you cant do your own repairs, but do not want to spend a lot, but want a "dealership quality" repair, take your car to a certified mechanic and make sure to specify you do not want any "shortcut repairs". They should not charge you more labor, but a "dealership quality" repair, using cheaper after market parts, will save you money but cost you a little more than the average local cheap shortcut mechanic repair, which as far as I'm concerned is not worth $h1t.
Either way you look at it, you can get the same quality repair at a much cheaper price.
