which radiator? Help!!!

ok i have an 05 Chevy Cobalt base2.2L ecotec coupe 5 speed.

now if i was to order a radiator which one should i get?


these aremy choices.


Chevy cobalt CP 2.2 L l4

or the

Chevy cobalt 2.2 CP LS LT

I dont think hitting a cat is justified for under warrenty. not to mention my car has 51k miles on it.

Ah, I remember the post now... You cased a huge fat ass cat at like 50mph right? Yea, Um if your cars a 5spd you obviously need the one for that, the Automatic radiator has a cooler in it as all auto's do, which for the record, are pointless cause they dont cool **** for the trans. A guy in town here in rochester NY rebuilds radiators for all cars and adds an extra Line of cores for better cooling when he does them. But for the part numbers you listed i dont see what the difference is other than one shows the LS and LT options and one is for the stock. So, go with what your car is, LT, LS or stock.

Check with the owners of the cat, maybe it was insured for damage brought on to other peoples property

Yeah, in fact the "cooler", while it would prevent overheating and help to maintain a certain temperature in cold evironments actually causes the transmission to run a little warmer than it would without it as long as the tranny is in good condition.

Some of the guys down here in Texas actually reroute the line; instead of going to the cooler they just loop in back in to the transmission. The tranny alot cooler that way. Since the temperature down here is warm we don't have to worry about heating up our tranny which is actually what a "cooler" is for.

Not sure about the company your goin through. through GM, there's only 1 radiator for the 2.2's. No matter what year they're all the same.
