Random Question - Electrical?
Okay so I started my car up and popped the hood after replacing a blown header gasket to make sure everything sounded fine, no leaks, etc..
I notice that the filter on the K&N [Short Ram/Cold Air] Intake had a visible amount of particles, not sure what they were but they looked like they were from a tree or a plant. I didn't want to pull the entire intake out to clean it, so I blew on the air filter to try and remove the unwanted particles
When I blew on the filter the first time, it shuddered, and the headlights dimmed way down, and the rpm dropped lower than my 600 idle, it sounded like it was going to die.
I was like
either that hasn't happened before, or I didn't try blowing on the filter to knock big particles loose.
So I blew on it again, to see if it would happen again. Sure enough, as I exhaled for about 3 seconds in the direction of the filter from a foot away, and the car completely died. The temperature outside was somewhere in the 60's and the car had been driving during the day, so temperature wasn't the issue.
I guess I'm really just wondering if this is something that is known to occur, or what. I think it messes with the Mass Air Flow Sensor, because when I turn the car back on, It will turn t/c off, and a check engine will come on. I took it to O'Reilly Autp Parts for a diagnostic, and I believe (I'll have to check because I'm not sure) that the code was P0102. I reset my codes, and it doesn't come back on, except for some strange reason when I use cruise control between 73 and 79 mph it turns t/c off. Probably getting ready to replace it, and get a JET Performance if it doesn't eff with my Trifecta.
Any suggestions?
