Exclamation " reduced engine power"

Hey guys, I just put a new motor in my car with 92k, it was all going good when it was running again & then it randomly read a code that said " Engine power reduced" and it started spitting &a backfiring a bit. Anyone know why?

Thanks in advanced

only time I got an "engine power reduced" error the car wouldn't start.. but it did spit and stutter when i rarely got it to run

that was from a MAP/fuel/throttle sensor with a faulty wire harness. car worked fine after I reconnected the wiring without that sensor

although I assume you didn't modify anything recently?

Check codes. Eng Power Reduced should have stored a code.

First thing I suggest is check your grounds. A loose ground caused that for me.
