repairing lsj throttle body?

I got a ported throttle body off my brother that had it on his car. It kept having problems with engine pwr reduced and bad sputtering and misfires. Changed to another lsj throttle and car was working fine for a few days and now its doing it again. But thats a story for another day haha.

So i installed this ported TB on my car and started sputtering like crazy. Only got one cel which was P2135 i believe. Something about the throttle blade position.

I was wondering if anyone has repaired a TB before, i cant find anything on google except some sell rebuilt or refurbished throttles. Do they sell repair kits to do them yourself? Any info would be greatly appreciates thanks.

They are not serviceable, they are pressed together and opening them up without proper tools isn't pretty. You can get a good used one for under $100, i'd start there.

When it was ported, was the butterfly removed? If so, alignment when it's re-installed is critical. If it binds it won't work.

Well not gonna buy a new one since we are putting the car back to stock, just wondering if it was salvagable.

He bought it like that already and the butterfly was replaced. Its a different butterfly than stock too. It was working fine for a couple months actually and just now it started acting up. Thanks though for the info

Ok in that case it's probably something in the electronics that failed. A good used one is still the best bet, yes they are expensive new but used they trade pretty cheap. I just bought a used one I could sell you if needed, I bought it to replace a new one on the car i'm getting running to sell. Nothing wrong with either one of them.
