RPM issues

So when I was coming home from work today at the red light my RPM went almost all the way to 0 and then back to 1 but pretty much kept going between 1 and .5 idk whats wrong. ANY SUGGESTIONS!!!!! my dad said it might be my TPS or something like that what do yall think
