SAI problems

alright i have been having major problems with the SAI on my car (2006 ls) and at autozone today the guy helping me figure out what the hell is wrong suggested welding a small bung into my AEM CAI, i was just popping on here to see what some of you guys who are doing good builds and know alot about these engines think of this idea, i know how to and can weld aluminum so its not a problem with that, i was just wondering if this would be a good idea to possibly get rid of the codes i am throwing.

thanks

Just throw a filter on the SAI tube. you are throwing a code because you are sucking dirty air through you SAI. A lot of guys have simply added a filter and you should be ok.

At autozone, go down the rice aisle and pick up "shielded breather filter." Should be about $15 and fits right into your SAI tube.

dude, i got one of those.. but its still all fucked up, i was actually the person who brought this whole thing to everyones attention. im just throwning codes like "pump always on" and all this other bullshit, i am going to be getting a new check valve to see if that could be my problem.. its more than just dirty air.. the whole system is having problems

damn... call around and see if you can get a dealer or a shop to reflash it out. or throw your stocker box back on and bring it in.

In that case, put the stock airbox on and bring it into the dealer. If there no code just bring it in anyway and say that there was a code and it went away. Don't mention ANYTHING about an intake.
