Scraping in Front Corner

Up on the passenger side front wheel area whenever I make a tight right turn or back up I hear a scraping noise. The dealer "fixed" it as a fender rub, but that's not what the problem was because it's still making the noise. It sounds like I'm hitting the cement or something and scraping all over or something. Any idea what this could be?

I don't know. That's possible though. I've got about 4800, maybe 4900, miles and I think I already have warped rotors because when braking lightly I feel a shimmy in the steering wheel. Damn cheap parts they used.. lol

This happened to me too. Check the screw for the sideskirt. When I took mine out I noticed the metal bracket the screw attaches to broke. You can get a new bracket at the auto store under the help-me parts. Shaped like a "U".

Thats if its the problem of course.

BTW, it may look like the wheel doesnt touch the side skirt but when your turning and braking it comes very close.

me too

did you recently have your tires changed?

I Got new tires last week and I've heard that noise a couple of times when doing a hard left. I went a little larger 225/45/18's. When I looked to see what might be causing it I noticed how close the tire was to what looked like a front spring.

I'm gonna take the tire off this weekend to get a closer look.

That's very possible too, it looks like that side skirt is flaring out quite a bit inside the wheel well. I'll have them fix that when I go in for service on Monday.

Thanks, bud!
