Seem to be overboosting

Well I took my car to the dealership lastweek, with a laundry list of things to fix and I had them look at my supercharger because I've been hearing a clunking noise coming from around that area off and on for a few months. After I got it back from them i got on the highway and slowed down to give a 2nd gear pull and I now notice a hiss faintly behind my whine and i boost up to 15 to 17 lbs and before i never noticed it go over 12. All I have is a Injen CAI but they told me everything is normal and that it is supposed to do that because of backpressure or something like that. Maybe it's fine but I would like your guys input on this thanks.

Probably was bunk before you took it in...at least I hope it was. It's warrantied for 8 years so have them replace it.

They told me today that the cat looked fine. And that over boosting like that is normal for the car. But they do seem like a really fuckedup shady dealership, but I think it's the only one in town.

thats not normal, i run a 2.85" pulley and see about 15psi. im guessing you are stock or stage 2, so that is far from normal.

Do I need to call a GM rep then? Cuz these ******* aren't going to give me a new cat. And I dont not have any stage kits just a CAI which they will probably tell me caused the cat to clog in the first place.

I took my car back to the dealership today and he told me that on a service bulletin that it is normal for the psi to go above 12.5 at high rpms. But i gave him a list of like 10 tsb's so hopefully i can get it fixed or I need to find a dirrerent dealership soon cuz my warranty is almost up.

I am going to take it to a different dealer just to get a 2nd opinion. I just know that I never saw past 11 psi after 2 years of owning the car. They want me to put the stock airbox back on and then look at it. Hopefully they will finally just get me a new cat and call it good.

it is NOT normal to go above 12.5psi at high rpms.
you need a new dealer, they have said a few things completely wrong already.

your cat is toast, and if its not fixed, your pistons will be next.
