ok so quick run down, 2009 ss/tc, has 14,652 miles on it. at 13,500 i had the rear rotors and pads warrantied (immediately replacing them with hawk hps pads), tuned the car at exactly 14,000 miles, put new falken tires on at 14,500 and just changed the oil today with 14,650....so the car has just goin through a big change in the past week or 2, but my question is why when i drove off my driveway this morning did my dashboard flash "service airbag" with the cel on and a "ding ding" sound? but after it did that it went away immediately. should i be worried about this? i know the car has been in the GM shop and the tire shop and i changed the oil...but what could make this happen, im going to class now so i'll check this when i get back but any info would help thanks.

my 06 started saying service air bag anytime someone sits in the passenger side, if no one is there, its fine, but when someone sits, it throws it

 

thats weird....mine did it when i was alone and once when my friend got in...i duno..if it keeps up i'll bring it in..thanks guyz

 

I had it happen once, but it was caused by my pillar pod pinching the hose for the airbag. I adjusted the screw and pod, restarted the car and it was back to normal.

 

I have that same problem. There are a few members on here with that problem. Some are saying it is the air bag module, but I don't know for sure. If you are still under warranty, don't think about it, take it in and find out what is the problem.

man thats ****** nuts! my car has been in the shop for 2.5 weeks now because the service airbag warning came on... did the exact same thing ur saying!... apparently it was some sensor in the steering wheel column which they fixed... AND my rear breaks are completely warn at 21k kms... bs... its warrantied... but its taking this long just to find ROTORS! and at the same time it was brought in for the charge air piping recall as well... been driving this car for 7 months... and its falling apart... wtf is going on!

 

lol it's a cobalt dude... im am having airbag issues too... everytime i accelerate or turn left it flashes service air bag... gonna take it in to the stealership wednesday
