shifter popping out of gear! help!
ok this is what happen....
i had to replace the slave cylinder on my car cuz it was leaking. i get it back and then the shifter kept popping out of 3rd and 5th gear. it feels like its not grabbing tight enough. 3rd gear and 5th gear feel really loose. so i took it back to the dealer....mechanic drove it around ...streets freeway and nothing. but when me and my bf drive it it keeps popping out. its never done that before. so anyways getting back to the dealership...they couldn't find anything wrong with it. i even drove around with the mechanic and nothing happened...i'm so lost to whats wrong with it.
please someone help me! has this happen to you? do you know what it might be? should i take it to a different chevy dealer?

There was something about this awhile ago.
I think it had to do with a hose interfering with the shifter and causing it to pop out of gear when you accelerate.
Not sure though.

Have your bf pull the boot up on the shifter and check your clearances by your cables. It seems to be coming from a specific spot, which most likely means there's something blocking you from being able to engage it fully up around 1 o'clock...

i had the same problem and the dealer said the pins that hold the shifter and place were bent due to shifting to hard but i bitched and complained till they covered it under warranty!
