Skipped main timing

2008 Chevy Cobalt SS 229,xxx miles. So, I decided to install the upgraded ZZP intake camshaft. I have the valve cover off, timing cover off. Everything was in time. I rotated the crank clockwise to reach top dead center. I passed t.d.c. and rotated the crank counter clockwise to get back to t.d.c.. I now realize I'm out of time because the mark on the intake&exhaust vvt sprockets and crank sprocket are two teeth past the colored links on the chain. How do I get this back in time? Any insight would be awesome. T.I.A.

Always rotate clockwise.

The chain link markings will only align at that first new install, once you've rotated the engine, it may take a few hundred or thousand turns for them ever to re-align again...

You the man stevieturboI got the colored links on chain to line up properly with the marks on the sprockets. Just had to rotate allot and worry. All good now. Thanks my man.
