Socket to remove IAT sensor

Socket to remove IAT sensor
What's the secret to taking out the fastener that holds the IAT sensor in? I have inverted torx sockets, 10 is too big and 8 is too small. What am I not getting here? Thanks.

I used the 1/4" 12 point. Worked great for me back in the day.
