Hey just got my spec stage 2 clutch in my car and took it to the track the other day and it kinda seemed like it slipped from 1st to second and this was the same problem i was having with the stock clutch. I was reading about someone's post saying the spin tires all the way through third gear when shifting is this because they don't have the g85? I have the g85 and was wondering if that little bit of almost hesitation/slippage was because the differential was trying to keep grip of the road. Someone help me out please I need to know if I should have the clutch replaced b/c it was defective or re-installed. Thank You!

Im no mechanic but i know you are suppose to have a break in period for a new clutch. Did you drive it for at least 1000 miles before taking it to the tracks. That may have something to do with it.

 

Um, if ya just put the the new clutch in and its slipping. I think its not installed right / or not setup right / or there is something else in the drivetrain system preventing the clutch from engaging properly.

 

Are you sure it is slipping? You say "it slipped from first to second" and later "a bit of almost hesitation/slippage". Are you sure the clutch is slipping abnormally? Put a white mark on your front tires and have people watch them during the run and see if they are slipping. If you are shifting too early, something is going to slip or else your engine will bog.

 

It has a top surface on it that is supposed to wear away during break in, if you didn't break it in then you might have shot yourself in the foot

 

I'm not sure if it slipping but that is what it appears to be and yes i did brake it in properly by the way spec says 450 miles before hard shifting not 1000. But I am going to the place that installed it today and they are going to do a 1/4 mile dyno run to see what the problem is, and see if it is slipping or if there is something else wrong.
