Srs exhaust t304 stainless already brown?

Put my catback srs exhaust on a few days ago. And I looked under my car today to see it and the resonator is already brown and so is the middle elbow? Is that normal and polishes shiny again? Or what's going on there? I thought t304 is highest grade and never rusts? Hope my tip doesn't turn brown as well?

Not sure what brand you got, but it is not rust, the brown color is tarnish, due to the heat. Just simple discoloration. Some grades of 304 are better than others, depending on brand.

Ya I researched it. Just discolouration of an element coming out from the heat. Thanks for the reply. I just hope my muffler doesn't tarnish. It and the pipe seem to be fine still. I'm guessing they used a better grade for the end piece of exhaust

304 stainless is far from the highest grade when it comes to corrosion resistance. 316 is far better but it's much more expensive so it's not used in applications like this.

Any stainless will discolor with heat and it can be polished right back to it's original color with no problems. It's under the car, don't worry about it

And also, every type of metal can rust. Stainless is very corrosion resistant but all metal can rust.

Also SRS is a knock off of Tsudo, which is an eBay brand exhaust.

There lies your problem

This.
The quality of the metal in the exhaust isn't going to be high, it may not even be what they claim. You get what you pay for.

My magnaflow rusted on the plumbing pretty badly after one winter. However, muffler seemed to withstand the abuse but the tip rusted at the edges and cleaned up decently with steel wool and cleaner. My ark has been on for a few years and the only thing I've noticed is tarnish and slight rust on the plumbing. Still looks very new.

Ya I went and rubbed it. It's tarnishing from the heat. But it's fine. Most of the browsing that looked like rust was actually an odd coloured dust from my yard at work. It's a nice exhaust for the price and so far.

I say so far I recommend it to anyone for the price. I got it for 300$ Canadian. Shipped to Niagara Falls New York. Came with all hardware, gaskets, 30 day warranty (useless) and some 2 srs stickers. Can't beat it for the price. It's got a low rumble to it. Can sound ricey with WOT. Idling sounds very nice. Driving sounds nice too. With the baffled off the tip it's very loud when it echoes off buildings and medians. I'm thinking when I put my 3" Zzp DP on this weekend ill out the baffle back on cause it will make it that much louder. Fitment was near perfect. It seems to pull to passenger side a tad but I think new rubber mounts would fix that cheap.
