SS/TC cat warm up acting funny

Hey guys ,

I have had my 2010 SS/TC for only 10 months ; mods are K&N intake, ZZP downpipe catted, dejon upper charge pipping , eibach springs

I have a video that I will upload soon. Basically upon a cold start, it idles like crazy and the engine almost sounds like it is about to shut off, then the exhaust sounds like its not running correctly, I do have a CEL and going to take it to auto zone to get the code after work. After the warm up or runs fine and has no problems. Also my A/F ratio says unavailable on my RPD unit.

Any help would be awesome! Thanks guys

I'll bet it's a vacuum leak, or the purge valve solenoid $hit the bed. In4code!

My balt did this the first winter owning it. All i had on it was a Catless DP and a drop in K&N. Maybe this winter has not been as cold on my end, but i have not changed the GMS1 tune. I think my car learned it cause now i have a SRI and no problems still, no hiccups on cold start, doesnt even take as much time to warm up.

So quick update, I turned it on tonight after work and it didn't act as funny as the video. It stopped idling one and that's all, nothing like the video. It's just funny because it runs perfectly fine afterwords, I do not WOT , but I gave it gas and it is boosting still. Gonna get it looked at tomorrow morning

Mine did this sometimes on cold starts in the winter. After it was warmed up it ran perfect or if I restarted it later in the day. Sometimes it would even stall out from having such a crazy idle in the morning. Dealer cleaned the carbon out of the injectors during one of my oil change visits and it never did it again so who knows. I figured it was the purge valve solenoid too at the time.

We definitely need a CEL code. Could you try something for me?! On a COLD engine, spray some carb cleaner around the intake manifold gasket and the valve cover gasket. The car will be at idle, and just give it a quick spray around/across those gaskets. If the idle/rpm goes up and changes, you have yourself a vacuum leak (sucking in unmetered air). That will rule-out those leaks. Boost leak test with soapy water would show leaks as well. I'm still banking on a bad Purge Valve Solenoid, though. Dude, I just changed mine out, and I believe it cured hard/weird starts, idle issues, and I regained some low-to-mid power back. It's so smooth now! Just saying.

Yes, I realize that's an SRT-4, but it gives you an idea.

So he didnt give me the code, just said it was a bad 02 sensor. He said its no biggie. I also noticed in the last day and a half on cold starts it idles just fine now and not acting up.

Thanks for the help and I will definitely do what you told me on Monday whenI have a day off.

But so far so good, just don't want anything major to happen
