Start Up Idle Issue

When I start my car for the first time every morning my car idle bounces from as low as 500rpm's to around 1000 then back down. Almost sounds like my car is gunna stall out. I watch my AFR gauge and its at 17.0+ sometimes going to "---". When I start to leave it stays like that for about the first 15-30 seconds of driving and while accelerating and will stutter. Then its fine. Nothing like that again all day until the next morning. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

My T/C used to do this with my AEM intake and when there was alot of moisture in the air(fog). It didnt do it while driving like you though. It hasnt happened in a long while.

Well it only happend for the first few seconds of driving. After that...it doesn't happen anymore. Like I can feel it and hear it when its good. I'll be accelerating...AFR at like mid 17s...then its like someone kicked my car in the ass and its like, "oh ****...ok" and ratio drops to mid to low 15s and its fine. No stutter or anything...

I find mine will do this in the morning on first start up and only if I try to kick it out of cat warmup mode before it's ready

^^ True. I usually wait for the cat warmup to be complete, even though I dont need it and should tune it out like others have done, but I like the idea of the engine being warmed up to operatin gtemp before I roll out.

Like I said, the only time it did it to me was when there was fog in the air. I think it confused the maf on startup. Wish I had more to offer on the subject.

Whats up bro, i say tune.. It has been very moist out here tho... So you could possible have a wet maf sensor, but if you are going lean like that it seems your stft are wack so either the tune is screwwed at first start up say eq ratio possibly or somthing that has been upgraded is the issue.

Yea I'm still in the middle of tuning with Vince. I'll let him know. It has been stupid humid out here lately. Is there a way I can "dry off" or clean the MAF sensor?

yeah at the auto parts store there should be something called masss air flow cleaner, its a eletrical cleaners stay about 1-2 foot away since it is heavily pressureized. If you cant find it ask for help from the idots at the auto parts store, they should hopefully know where it is. lol!!!

Alright cool...

well I let my car sit for damn near two days and when I went to work this morning, I didn't have that issue. I was cooler out and there wasn't half as much humidity. So I think that prolly was the issue. Thanks for the heads up guys.
