i have problems with this too sometimes. i have a brand new gm replaced engine with a bad EVAP purge valve. what happens is, the valve is a solenoid and is malfunctioning and causing a continuous purge or over purge of the gas tank that is causing a pressure differential and is making my car either not start or start and die. i have to hold the gas and let it idle at a rapid idle for like 10-15 seconds. really only happens after i fill up the tank with fuel.. plus im stage 2 with a few other mods but upon a comprehensive scan done by gm im sure its the EVAP. also ive done alot of research to back up my findings at the dealership. sad thing is you cant get this part at an auto parts store. its only available at gm for like $150. atleast thats what autozone, orielys, advance, carquest told me. and this is after they find it in their system and try to order it. they just cant get it. oh well, hope this info helps you! DONT KEEP STARTING YOUR CAR MORE THAN 5 TIMES OR YOU WILL DESTROY YOUR STARTER!!!!
