Starting issues with lsj
Hi all, new to posting on the forums but have been reading threads for a while trying to diagnose problems I've been having, I'll start with the major one I need sorted out first.
I've been having issues with starting, mainly on the cold -5 to -30c
The problem seems to be getting worse, what it used to to was turn over, stumble a bit then stall, repeat that a few times by cycling the key and it would start, now in the morning it turns over fires for half a second and shuts off, and pretty much just keeps turning over until it floods, so yesterday I pulled the plugs, brought them inside, heated them up with a lighter to try and dry them off and re gapped them to .34, put them in and it fired right up instantly, but same issue every morning starting it.
I had it at work in the shop for a week while I put new rockers in and never started it the whole time and when I was done it fired up, so I don't believe the issue is just from sitting.
Also after its ran it starts fine but has a very slight stumble that goes away almost instantly, I have a code for a rich condition in bank 1 and cylinder misfire but that one wasn't specific to which cylinder.
The car is new to me so I have no idea on all the mods, other than full Megan racing exhaust, and what appears to be an eBay intake with k&n filter on it.
I did find a gm stage 2 pulley in the trunk, but the injectors are stock green ones and the pulley on it appears stock as well.
It seems to have a type of surge while just coasting on the highway off throttle around 2000 rpm as well (clutch engaged still) possibly from rich condition?
A similar starting issue happened in the shop at work when I had the maf unplugged, it would start and stall right away until mid remembered to plug the maf back in, so could I be having maf issues?

Quick update, I pulled the plugs and dried them off and heated with a lighter again, threw them back in and fired up instantly
Is this a plug issue? They're new stock acdelco plugs, I'm going to go buy some NGK plugs today and see if the problem goes away, probably the bkr7e
The paper towel I used to wipe them off was black, and they were wet when pulled, barely cranked it over today knowing how I fixed it yesterday

Check your battery as well. If you're pulling low voltages, it will cause havoc with just about everything electrical - especially since we have been getting these deep cold weather spats.

I just put a new battery in and had it out yesterday and fully charged it.
Just ran the codes and got p0171, p0172 and p300
Didn't have the code for lean trim in bank 1 yesterday
Also there's a click/tap sound coming from the belt side but I can't pinpoint what the sound is, it does it randomly and not in any consistent pattern

I don't think my last post worked but I have a new battery and made sure it's fully charged
I have a tick/tap sound coming from the belt side, is that timing chain? And could that be causing my trouble?
it does it randomly and not consistent in pattern sometimes it'll tick once then go away for a minute and tick again or it'll tick a few times then stop and repeat a little later again or it'll tick a bunch of times in a row
